Get An Extended Warranty for Your Air Purifier

Any time you spend a good bit of money on something, you might want to have some peace of mind about how long it’s going to last…

Extended warranties give you that nice, fuzzy feeling. You can look at your agreement and know that if something happens to your machine, you’ll be able to get a new one, without paying a lot for repair or replacement.

If you want to get an extended warranty on any of the models that we sell, act quickly within 20 days of purchase. Technically, you have 30 days, but we recommend going ahead within 20 days to allow for processing time.

What Breaks Down on an Air Purifier?

There are a number of things that can happen to your air purifier over time.

One major problem would be a malfunction of the motor. The motor in the appliance can freeze up or otherwise break down over time, especially if the unit is running most of the time. Experts use something called a “bathtub curve” to anticipate average time of use for a product. Some machines will fail early, some will last longer, but there’s usually a bell curve where you can anticipate mechanical problems.

Power and Controls Failures

Sometimes the breakdown has to do with your power supply, or the controls for the unit. If some of the components don’t work the way they should, you may be hoping that you have an extended warranty in your pocket. Some of these problems are caused by environmental problems like excessive moisture or water.

Filter Displacement

Other problems with your air purifier machine can be traced back to the filter. Some machines have more sophisticated filters than others, but many of them can become dislodged or break, and then you have a major problem on your hands.

Fan Damage

You may also be looking for a warranty on your air purifier if something happens to the fan that revolves around inside the machine. This can range from small problems with excessive noise, to major problems like a fan that doesn’t move at all. You may notice errors in fan speed, or again, bad noises coming from the machine.

Diagnosing Air Purifier Problems

In some cases, it’s hard to tell if the machine is breaking down or experiencing other kinds of wear.

For example, the filters on these machines need to be replaced or cleaned, usually replaced, every so often. If that doesn’t happen, the air handling is going to be compromised, and you might see that happen as you run the machine. You might think that it has broken down, when in reality, it’s clogged – or the other way around.

Made to Last?

Sadly, most of the things that we purchase aren’t made to last anymore. That’s why the extended warranties are so helpful with so many home consumer products. It may be extremely hard to find a repair shop that will work on any given appliance, partly because of the way the machines are made, and partly because of what’s called “right to repair.”

In other words, manufacturers are keeping proprietary information closer, away from competitors, so it makes it hard for independent repair shops to operate.

The Value of an Extended Warranty

We understand that you want some confidence when it comes to what you’re purchasing to keep your home air clean and healthy. So we can advise on extended warranties for our machines, and get you access to the extended warranty before time runs out.

It’s interesting to know that many of these manufacturers used to allow for re-upping an extended warranty near the end of an existing manufacturer warranty process. Now they have changed that rule and require customers to sign up within 30 days of purchasing the appliance. We’ll let you know if that changes.
