A TrueHEPA Canister is 99.97% effective to .3 microns. The standard 600 units (non-DLX) are used when the focus is fine particulates and chemicals, VOCs, gases, and odors. The DLX units focus primarily on VOCs, gases, and odors, instead of fine (.3 microns) particulates like a True HEPA canister would filter which is featured in the non-DLX units.

Also keep in mind that numerous factors come into play when considering an air purifier such as but not limited to the contaminants, coverage (sufficient air changes for the level of off gasing), speed of off-gasing, particulate matter, sensitivities of the consumer and much more.
The usages shown above are simply suggestions. Air Purification is not a black-and-white science. There is a lot of gray area that affects the results such as things that are out of our control like humidity or even the location of the unit. I wish there was just 1 unit for every need, it would make our job much easier, but there are trade-offs like sound for power and budget for filtration.

5.0Excellent productBy Walter GillesBought two of these based on the performance of the first one. Initial environment was high Radon and particulate air pollutants due to proximity to open pit mining and industry, creating severe medical situation for lungs.
Both products did an outstanding job of cleaning up the pollutants in the house. Most recently the many brush fires polluted the air even more to the point that on one day, the local air quality was officially the worst in the world and residents were advised not to even go outside.
I would buy this product again and recommend it unreservedly.
